My Little Trip Has Become a Full-On Operation
I originally planned a one-month trip — perform Umrah, visit some childhood places, recharge. But as I started to get my bearings, a few things came up and I had to extend my stay to the end of the year.

Why Work Always Finds Me
As I was settling in, I began to hear about different things happening in the construction industry. And me being me — someone who came to relax and unwind in Makkah and Madinah — I couldn't stop entertaining potential clients and engaging with projects happening across KSA. The construction sector here is moving fast. So many projects are starting, and just as many need finishing.

Opportunities Don't Wait for Your Schedule
One thing I've noticed is that the international companies here are working non-stop — no rest, no slowdown. The Saudi-owned companies, on the other hand, are somewhat laid back. Despite this being my vacation, I am somehow the most active person in the room. My schedule is filled to the brim. I didn't plan to stay long, but we will see what happens as things progress in KSA.

Life in Jeddah Right Now
Life here is more laid back — things are just more convenient than ever. The gyms are great, and mine is incredible — over 100 machines targeting every muscle group. Despite work finding me, I don't feel the same urgency I had back home. This is why I describe this place as one long dream you don't want to wake up from, but you know you have to — because your life and responsibilities are waiting for you on the other side.

What I'm Building Next (and What I Can't Say Yet)
Since I'm in Jeddah — where most of the major construction projects are happening — I am establishing an office here to oversee the projects that my construction company, Mega Associates (get it 😉), will be taking on. I keep telling myself I can move back home whenever I want, but this is starting to look permanent. The silver lining? I have more freedom to travel than I ever had before, so I'll find time to explore new countries here and there throughout the year.
